Alumni

Hello, Chateaugay alumni of yesteryear! Remember that time when we laughed so hard our stomachs hurt? Remember Moffit’s Island? Chateaugay Downs? Harrigans aka Tastee Freeze.

At Camp Chateaugay, our Alumni Program is an initiative that aims to keep the spirit of Camp Chateaugay alive even after staff & campers have moved on from their summer camp experience. The program provides opportunities for former staff members & campers to stay connected with each other and with the camp community through events, reunions, and networking opportunities. Alumni of all ages are encouraged to participate, with the hope to foster a lifelong love of nature, community, and friendship among its former staff & campers.

As the stewards of this magical place, we greatly appreciate the love and support we receive from our alumni — here are some ways to support our camp from near or far. And to keep those memories alive by staying connected with Chateaugay. Please email info@chateaugay.com to get involved and to request to be added to our newsletter email list, and join our alumni Facebook group here (or search for Chateaugay Alumni Meeting Place on Facebook).

Reunions

Every 5 years Camp Chateaugay host an alumni reunion, which always promises to be a fun-filled and nostalgic event. The next one is in 2028. The reunion provides a great opportunity for former campers and staff to reconnect with old friends, share stories, and reminisce about their time at the camp. With a variety of activities planned, (including outdoor sports, games, campfires, and group meals), attendees can relive the magic of their summer camp experiences. The reunion is also a chance for alumni to see how the camp has evolved over the years and to meet some current staff. Whether you attended Camp Chateaugay last summer or decades ago, the reunion is the perfect chance to relive the memories and make new ones. All attendee’s usually are able to stay onsite in our cabins. Activities such as canoe, softball, basketball, swimming, campfires at the beach and in Wilderness, basic arts and crafts will be available and maybe even some trips to the legendary Harrigan’s ‘Tasty Freeze’.

Sponsoring a camper

As Camp Chateaugay alumni, you are aware of the transformative power of a summer at Camp Chateaugay. Each year, we provide merit-based scholarships to deserving children and families in need of financial assistance.

You can assist us in this endeavor. We have partnered with the Adirondack Scholarship Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children, regardless of race, gender, or orientation, by providing fiscal sponsorship to camps in the Adirondacks. The Adirondack Scholarship Foundation holds a 501c3 designation and allows us to take financial contributions and make them tax-deductible.

We encourage you to assist us in sharing the incredible Chateaugay experience with those in need. To make a tax-deductible contribution, please click on the links below:
