Well balanced and tasty meals have always been a priority for the Chateaugay kitchen. Campers need to be well nourished to have maximum enjoyment from their activities. We strive to make the dining hall and eating a positive experience at camp. Every meal is kid oriented, made fresh daily, and has several options. Each meal consists of a main course, a vegetarian alternative, and an additional choice for campers who would prefer another option. Yogurt and cereal are optional additions to the hot breakfast.

At lunch and dinner there is a large salad bar and frequently a baked potato bar. Peanut butter and jelly sandwich is always an option. There are daily snacks of fresh fruit, pretzels or crackers every morning and afternoon plus an evening snack.

Many of us have special dietary needs. We have a nut free zone in the dining room for those with allergies. Campers with specific dietary needs may have special meals prepared. Laurie Roland, camp director and food service director makes sure that these special needs are given the individual attention required.
Of course, meal time is about much more than just eating! Chateaugay meals are typically charged with singing, cheers, dancing, and tons of spirit! We play music at every meal, and once in a while you can catch our campers singing and dancing to some Chateaugay classics.

Birthdays are always a big deal at Camp Chateaugay. You can expect your child’s birthday to be a fun, memorable one, with a cake arriving in the dining room, while the entire camp breaks into song & cheers.
