| Hal
has a degree in education
and taught elementary school
for several years. In 1978
he began his career in camping
working on the waterfront
of a camp in New England.
His career in camping continued
with the purchase of Camp
Chateaugay in 1989! Hal spends his winter months working from his home in Connecticut, and enjoying outdoor activities with his daughter Claire. |

| Dov
Shapiro (aka: Bear) is the
full time director and now
partial owner of Camp Chateaugay.
He has been working in the
camping industry for many
years, and has extensive experience
working with children as the
former director of Mad Science
of South Florida, and one
of the directors of Westcoast
Connection travel camp. Dov
brings to Chateaugay his passion
for kids, fun, adventure,
and a safe summer. If you
can’t find him at his home
in Montreal, you might find
him climbing a mountain or
skiing on anything he can
find. |
